As a candidate for the Board of Trustees, I believe that there are several important topics that we must address to ensure that our children receive the best possible education in a safe and supportive environment. These topics include promoting academic excellence, safe schools, and parent outreach and input.
- I will focus on promoting academic excellence, innovation, and professionalism in our schools. I know that education is not just about preparing students for the future, but also about equipping them with the tools and skills they need to thrive in the present. I have seen how investing in our students and providing them with the examples they need to succeed, can create a brighter future for our community.
- Our schools must be safe and welcoming environments for our children. Positive classroom behavior is essential for creating a safe and productive learning environment for all students. We need to support teachers in promoting positive behavior in their classrooms and ensure that all students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed. Students should be held accountable for their behavior, discipline should be approached in a constructive way that emphasizes learning and growth. Furthermore, we must create a culture of respect, where all students, teachers and parents feel valued and supported.
- Parent outreach and input are critical to creating a collaborative and effective education system. As a member of the Board of Trustees, I will prioritize building strong partnerships with parents and families, and ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed. By fostering open communication and collaboration, we can create a stronger, more supportive education system that benefits all children in our community.
